The Queen's state funeral will be a day that highlights the "wonderful things that can happen in music", the King's master of music has said.

Judith Weir held the position of Queen's Music Master until her death, becoming the first woman to hold the post in 2014.

After Charles ascends the throne, Ms Weir will become the King's Music Master until his reign ends in 2024.

The Queen's funeral will be a "transient day" that will affect millions of people.

"It's going to be a beautiful day, we're going to see the most amazing thing that can happen in music," he told the BBC.

"I think that it is also an important moment for us that we will not see the queen again.
