Nothing has unveiled a new variant for its latest smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2a). Unlike the original version which is available in either Black or Milk colourways in Malaysia, the new variant which is called the Special Edition features multiple colours in a single unit.

In terms of pricing, the Phone (2a) Special Edition can be obtained for RM1,699 which is similar to the standard variant. However, the device will be released in Malaysia exclusively through Crossover’s online store.

Not only that, only 100 units will be made available in Malaysia. Crossover will start selling the Phone (2a) Special Edition on its online store at 12:00AM on 7 June, so make sure to plan accordingly if you are planning to get your hands on the phone.

As noted earlier, the major difference between the Phone (2a) Special Edition and the launch variant is its colourway. Specifically, the rear of the device features a touch of blue, red, and yellow in select areas on a predominantly white and grey background.

The rest of the Special Editon variant is no different than the standard Phone (2a). You still get a 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED display that has a native resolution of 2412 x 1084 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate capability of between 30Hz to 120Hz and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Running on a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro, the Phone (2a) Special Edition also still features a 50MP f/1.88 main camera on its back alongside a 50MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera. There is also a 32MP f/2.2 camera on its front to handle selfies.

Powering the phone is a 5,000mAh battery that supports fast charging speed of up to 45W although you have to purchase the charger separately. In Malaysia, the Phone (2a) is only available with 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage which applies to the Special Edition variant too.
