Gentari offers free RM100 charging credit for new Power Pass subscribers at EVX 2024

Gentari earlier this year has introduced the Gentari Go Power Pass subscription plan which offers massive discounts for EV charging. The renowned Charge Point Operator and green energy company will be offering additional benefits to customers who sign up for Power Pass at EVX 2024 this weekend in Setia City Convention Centre.

What are the benefits of Gentari Go Power Pass?

Before we dive further, let’s talk about the perks that come with the Gentari Go Power Pass. The biggest benefit of the subscription plan is getting 50% off at all Gentari EV chargers throughout Malaysia regardless of AC or DC chargers.

As the Power Pass costs RM899 per year, that price tag may sound hefty. However, once you do the math, the discount that the subscription plan provides is quite useful, especially for those who use DC fast chargers often.

Let’s consider this scenario as an example: you drive a BYD Dolphin Extended Range (ER) which has a battery capacity of 61kWh.

The charging fee for your favourite Gentari DC charger is RM1.50/kWh. In theory, the cost to charge the Dolphin ER from near empty to 100% through DC would be RM91.50.

Based on your usage, you only charge the EV once per week which means your total charging fee is RM366 per month. With that, the total charging cost would be RM4,392 per year.

With the Power Pass, the cost could be reduced to RM2,196. If you add the cost of the Power Pass in the picture, the total is RM3,095.

So, in this scenario, you would save RM1,297 by subscribing to the Power Pass. Naturally, the actual saving depends on your usage and charging habits.

The Power Pass also includes access to Gentari AutoCharge if your EV can support it. This particular allows you to initiate charging any selected Gentari chargers simply by plugging the charging cable into your EV instead of using the Gentari Go app.

Not to forget, you can also claim the Power Pass subscription fee for tax deductions. This is because the government is currently providing annual income tax relief of up to RM2,500 for EV charging facility subscription fees including subscription plans.

Now that we are already clear on the benefits of the Power Pass, it’s time to take a look at the deals that Gentari has for this weekend’s EVX 2024. First, new Power Pass subscribers will receive RM100 charging credits when they sign up for the plan.

If you are currently a Gentari Juice Up subscriber, you will get an additional 1 month validity for your Power Pass too if you sign up for the plan during the EVX weekend. However, you may have to be quick though because these Power Pass deals are only available for the first 100 signups.
