Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Specs and Features

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE looks more upmarket than before with the use of Gorilla Glass Victus for both sides and it features an aluminium frame. The screen now is bigger at 6.7″ (Previously: 6.4″) and it is still a 120Hz Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. However, it lacks LTPO technology that allows the screen to go as low as 1Hz.

Unlike the current Galaxy S24 and S24+, the bezels aren’t symmetrical and you still get a noticeably thicker chin. Considering this is a budget flagship device, it is still a pretty decent package with a decent build quality and you still get the usual flagship perks including stereo speakers and IP68 rated dust and water resistance.

Unlike the previous Galaxy S23 FE which ran on a processor from its previous Exynos generation, the new Galaxy S24 FE runs on a 4nm Exynos 2400e. In case you’re wondering, the extra “e” denotes a slightly watered-down processor from the Exynos 2400 found on the Galaxy S24 and S24+. We were told that the processor is the same except that its high-performance cores are clocked slightly lower at 3.1GHz, instead of 3.2GHz.

To keep things cool during intense multitasking and to sustain peak performance for a longer duration while gaming, Samsung has enlarged the vapour chamber by 11% compared to its predecessor.

In the camera department, the rear gets a familiar triple-camera setup with three protruding lenses. It has a 50MP main camera that claims to offer 2x optical-quality zoom, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8MP telephoto camera that offers 3x optical zoom and digital zoom up to 30x. Meanwhile, the front gets a 10MP selfie shooter.

Samsung is still drumming up Galaxy AI as one of its hero features and they are proud to announce that the Galaxy S24 FE will get all of their latest suite of AI-powered features from day one. With the latest One UI 6.1.1 update, Galaxy S24 FE users can enjoy the latest Galaxy AI features including the ability to use offline live translation for third-party voice call apps including WhatsApp, and the ability to use AI to convert your poorly drawn sketches into high-quality AI-generated images.

Similar to other Samsung flagship devices, the Galaxy S24 FE users can enjoy extended support with 7 generations of Android OS upgrades and 7 years of security updates. In terms of connectivity, it supports 5G, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

The Galaxy S24 FE also gets a larger battery at 4,700mAh (Galaxy S23 FE: 4,500mAh) and it still supports 25W fast wired charging as well as wireless charging. With a 25W adapter and a 3A USB-C cable, Samsung says you can get to 50% charge in about 30 minutes.

Overall, the Galaxy S24 FE remains an interesting option for the budget-conscious buyer who wants the best Galaxy flagship experience without breaking the bank. As a comparison, the smaller 6.2″ Galaxy S24 256GB is now going for RM3,399 while the 6.7″ Galaxy S24+ 256GB is going for RM3,999.
