Realme GT 7 teased for Malaysia

Late last year, Realme launched its latest flagship smartphone, the GT 7 Pro, here in Malaysia. Now, its non-pro sibling, the GT 7, has been teased to be released globally soon, including in our country.

If you’ve been paying attention to Realme recently, you might have noticed that the Realme GT 7 was just launched in China in late April. However, certifications for what is believed to be the GT 7 that have surfaced online show that the Indian/global market, including Malaysia, might be receiving a different GT 7 after all, featuring different specifications.

Global Realme GT 7 essentially a rebadged Realme Neo 7?

The device has been spotted on the Bluetooth SIG database and has also passed Indonesia’s TKDN certification with the model number “Realme RMX5061”. It also made an appearance on Geekbench, revealing some of its specs, including its Dimensity 9300+ chipset, 12GB of RAM, and the fact that it will run on Android 15 out of the box.

Realme Neo 7

Looking at its “leaked” specs so far, it seems like the global variant of the Realme GT 7 might just be a repackaged version of the Realme Neo 7 in China. This phone sports a 6.78″ 1.5K OLED 120Hz display, a 50MP and 8MP ultra-wide dual camera setup at the back, a 16MP front camera, and can be had with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Additionally, the Neo 7 is also equipped with a 7,000mAh battery and supports 80W wired charging.

Realme GT 7 marketed with “007” theme. The next Bond Phone?

Several of Realme’s teaser posters for the GT 7 can be seen featuring the “007” branding and theme. Could this mean that the Realme GT 7 will become the next Bond Phone?

Several phones that have been marketed with the James Bond branding in the past include the Nokia 8.3 5G, as well as Sony and Sony Ericsson phones like the Xperia Z5, Xperia T, C902 Cyber-shot, K800i, and the T68i.

There’s also a Realme GT 7T. Coming to Malaysia too?

Aside from the Realme GT 7, a Realme GT 7T has also passed certification in India. This phone is reported to sport a Dimensity 8400 chipset and 8GB RAM, which should translate to a more affordable price tag than the full-fledged GT 7. Whether this model is also coming to Malaysia is still a question.

Realme Buds Air 7 Pro passed SIRM certification

Aside from the above smartphones, Realme is also expected to unveil a new true wireless earbuds. Known as the Realme Buds Air 7 Pro, these earbuds have passed SIRIM certification here in Malaysia and should be making their launch together with the GT 7 in the country soon.
