Dyson has officially launched its first high-fidelity, audio-only headphones, the Dyson OnTrac, in Malaysia. Designed for precision sound, class-leading active noise cancellation, and extended comfort, the headphones are now available at a retail price of RM2,599.
Pricing and Customisation Options
The Dyson OnTrac headphones are priced at RM2,599 and are available in two colour finishes: CNC Copper and CNC Black Nickel. Unfortunately, the Malaysian market doesn’t get the other two options: Ceramic Cinnabar (ceramic-feel paint finish) and CNC Aluminium.

That said, you can customise the headphones with seven colours for the interchangeable ear cushions and eight for the outer caps. When factoring in the default colours that come with the headphones, that’s a total of 72 possible combinations. The components are crafted from machined aluminium with ceramic or anodised finishes.

These accessories are sold separately at RM269/pcs and are available exclusively at Dyson retail stores at the moment.

A complimentary Dyson OnTrac Slimline Case is included with each purchase. The headphones fold flat using rotating gimbal arms and slide into the compact case for easier storage and travel.

Dyson also offers a range of 0% interest instalment plans:
- 24-month instalment: CIMB or HSBC credit cards (minimum spend RM4,000)
- 6 to 12-month instalment: Maybank, CIMB, or HSBC credit cards (minimum spend RM1,000)
- 4-month instalment: Grab PayLater (minimum spend RM1,000)
Grab PayLater users can also apply promo codes at checkout for discounts. Note that this offer is not valid for tools and accessories.
- PLDYSON150: RM150 off with a minimum spend of RM1,500
- PLDYSON300: RM300 off with a minimum spend of RM2,500
The Dyson OnTrac can be purchased via Dyson retail stores and Dyson Malaysia’s online store with a two-year warranty.
What do you get with the Dyson OnTrac?

Equipped with 40mm, 16-ohm neodymium drivers, the headphones reproduce sound across a frequency range of 6Hz to 21kHz, which is wider than most headphones that operate at a range of 20Hz to 20kHz. Dyson says this reveals more low-end depth and high-end clarity.

The speaker housing is angled 13 degrees toward the ears to improve clarity and sound directionality. The headphones weigh 0.451kg and have been certified by US Ergonomics for comfort. They feature ultra-soft microfiber cushions, multi-pivot gimbal arms, and an optimised clamp force to reduce pressure. The design is tailored to provide a secure and comfortable fit across various head sizes.

Eight microphones are used to analyse external sound 384,000 times per second, enabling up to 40dB of active noise cancellation. Noise levels inside and outside the cups are tracked in real-time through the MyDyson app, which also alerts users to potentially harmful volume levels. Besides that, the app allows for three EQ presets: Bass Boost, Neutral, and Enhanced.

Bluetooth audio codecs are not listed, raising questions around support for standards like aptX or LDAC. But seeing how Dyson likes to keep a closed ecosystem, it’s safe to assume that they support the SBC codec only, which is the default audio codec used for Bluetooth audio transmission.

There is no traditional power button; like Apple’s AirPods Max, the headphones automatically power on and off based on use. You can, however, control playback, skip tracks, or activate a voice assistant using the integrated joystick control, a dedicated button for switching listening modes, double-tap either ear cup to toggle ANC, and capacitive sensors pause audio when the headphones are removed.

The OnTrac takes three hours to fully charge and provides up to 55 hours of listening time, even with ANC enabled. A 10-minute quick charge offers up to 2.5 hours of listening, while a 30-minute charge provides up to 9 hours. Charging is via USB-C. Two lithium-ion battery cells are embedded in the headband for improved weight balance.
Why are these Dyson’s first audio-only headphones?

Dyson’s first headphone was a unique combination of noise-cancelling headphones and an air purifier. Designed to tackle both air and noise pollution, the Dyson Zone featured eight active noise-cancelling microphones and a detachable contact-free visor that delivered purified air to the wearer. The filtration system was said to capture 99% of ultrafine pollutants, making it ideal for urban environments.
The Dyson Zone launched with a starting price of $949 (~RM4,070), being available in China in January 2023, followed by launches in the U.S., U.K., Hong Kong, and Singapore in March 2023. Today, we can’t find it listed under the headphone section on their US and UK sites, with the only model available being the Dyson OnTrac.
However, you can still find it on Amazon for $299, which is almost 70% off its original price.
