Lambretta Elettra Electric Scooter: Italian classics reimagined, 127km range, 110km/h top speed

When someone mentions Italian scooters, Lambretta might be one of the first names that pop up in your mind. Interestingly enough, the company has also dipped its toes into electrification, and this has resulted in the creation of the Lambretta Elettra.

First shown to the world at EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy, the Lambretta Eletrra is currently on display at the Lambretta’s booth in Malaysia Autoshow 2025 which marked the concept electric scooter’s first appearance over here. The brand said that it plans to release the Elettra in Malaysia next year, although the finalised production unit has not yet been revealed so far.

Quintessentially Lambretta but it’s electric

For purists out there, relax – the electrified Lambretta still looks like a Lambretta. That being said, the Elettra concept electric scooter does feature a silver colourway alongside LED strips that highlight the outline of its body.

While it still features the brand’s signature hexagonal headlamp design and is inclusive of the embedded Lambretta logo on its centre, the headlamp unit is now LED-based and has a Daytime Running Light (DRL) feature. There is also another set of front lights on the lower part of the bike to provide better illumination at night.

The concept model also features a sculpted floating seat, flush brake levers, signal indicators that are embedded into the ends of the handlebar and integrated LED rear lights. The show unit also features a motorised mechanism that lifts up the bike’s body to allow easy access to its motor and battery.

Before you get too excited though, let me remind you again that the unit you see here is still a concept model. So, it remains to be seen which of these features will make their way to the production version of Elettra.

Lambretta Elettra Electric Scooter quick specs

Despite being a concept model at the moment, Lambretta already have a set of specifications that the company aim to deliver in the production model. For starters, the company said that the Elettra will feature an 11kW (15hp) motor with 258Nm of torque and can hit a top speed of 110km/h.

Powered by a 4.6kWh LFP battery, Lambretta claimed that Elettra is able to deliver a WMTC-rated range of 104.5km. With three different driving modes to choose from, including Eco, Ride, and Sport, the exact range can be from 60km if you ride it at a constant speed of around 81km/h or as high as 127km with an average speed of 40km/h.

In terms of charging time, Lambretta said that the bike takes around 5 hours 40 minutes to be fully charged from empty via a normal 220V charger. On the other hand, the Elettra only requires 36 minutes to go from 20% to 80% when charged with a “public fast charging station”, although the company didn’t specify whether it is an AC or DC charging station.

For those who are wondering about the bike’s physical attributes, the 135kg electric scooter has a 1,380mm wheelbase and 140mm ground clearance as well as a 780mm seat height. Built with a die-cast aluminium chassis and steel bodywork, it will come with 12-inch wheels.

The bike also features dual side trailing link front suspension and monoshock rear suspension with aluminium swingarm. Not to forget, the bike also has a 100/90 front tyre as well as a 120/80 rear tyre.
