Huawei has just debuted its latest non-foldable flagship smartphone series, consisting of the Huawei Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro, Pura 80 Pro+, and the Pura 80 Ultra, in China. Although yet to be launched internationally, these devices are set to battle rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, Google Pixel 9 series, Vivo X200 series, and the iPhone 16 series.
Huawei Pura 80 specs and features
The “vanilla” Huawei Pura 80 is offered in four shades — white, black, gold, and green — all of which are rated at IP69/69 for dust and water resistance. Display-wise, you get a 6.6″ Full HD+ (2760×1256) LTPO OLED display that has an adaptive refresh rate of between 1 to 120Hz. Shielding the display is the 2nd-gen Kunlun glass, which Huawei says has 20 times better drop resistance than the previous generation.
In terms of performance, Huawei did not reveal the specific chipset the Pura 80 series uses. The only thing the company mentioned is that its Ark Engine improves the Pura 80 series’ performance by 36% over their predecessors from last year.
Also, the regular Pura 80 can be had with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Yes, Huawei is offering 1TB of storage with its non-Pro flagship. Besides, the Huawei Pura 80 supports China’s BeiDou satellite navigation system.

Now, let’s talk about its cameras. Huawei has fitted its “entry-level” Pura 80 with a tri-camera setup and a spectral sensor. This includes a 50MP main camera with a variable aperture of f/1.4-f/4.0 with OIS, a 12MP f/3.4 periscope telephoto shooter with OIS, a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 1.5MP multi-channel spectrum sensor. Up front, you also get a 13MP f/2.0 selfie camera.
Battery-wise, you get a 5,600mAh cell that can handle wired charging at 66W via USB-C and wireless at 50W. With the non-Pro Pura 80, you get a USB 2.0 port. The Pura 80 series runs on Huawei’s proprietary Harmony OS 5.1.
What extras do you get with the Pura 80 Pro & Pro+?

First off, colourways. In China, the Huawei Pura 80 Pro is available in either black, white or gold, while the Pura 80 Pro+ is offered in white, black, red, or green. These phones also get a larger 6.8″ Full HD+ (2848×1276) LTPO display, shielded by the 2nd-gen Kunlun glass.
On the connectivity side of things, the Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ also supports the TianTong satellite communication service, in addition to the BeiDou satellite navigation system.
Camera-wise, the Huawei Pura 80 Pro series gets a 50MP main camera with a 1″ sensor, and a variable aperture of f/1.6-f/4.0 with OIS, a 48MP f/2.1 OIS-equipped telephoto camera with tele-macro function, a 40MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 1.5MP multi-channel spectrum sensor. You also get the same 13MP f/2.0 selfie camera as the non-Pro model.
In terms of battery, you get a slightly larger 5,700mAh cell that can be charged at 100W via USB-C and 80W via Qi wireless charging. With the Pro, Pro+, and Ultra models, you get an upgrade to a USB 3.1 Gen 1 port.
Huawei Pura 80 Ultra: Enhanced performance & camera

By splurging for the top-of-the-line Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, these are the goodies you get over the Pro and Pro+ models. First off, you get more RAM at 16GB, paired with either 512GB or 1TB of storage.
The main upgrade is in the imaging department, specifically its 50MP OIS-equipped telephoto dual-lens system with a 1/1.28″ sensor and a mechanism that can shift between its two lenses. Yes this telephoto sensor packs two lenses, one with a f/2.4 aperture and 3.7x optical zoom capability and the other one a f/3.6 unit that can zoom optically up to 9.4x.

Moving on, you get a 50MP main camera with a 1″ sensor and OIS, along with a variable aperture of f/1.6-f/4.0.
