Yinson GreenTech and PLUS Malaysia Berhad are teaming up to develop and operate Integrated Retail & EV Charging Hubs at selected locations along the North-South Expressway (NSE). The first confirmed location is at the Seremban Rest and Service Area (Southbound). These hubs aim to redefine the EV charging experience on Malaysian highways by pairing reliable DC fast charging with curated retail and F&B offerings.
First EV Hub at Seremban RSA, targeted for 2027
The joint venture is signed between the subsidiaries Green EV Charge Sdn Bhd under Yinson GreenTech, and Terra PLUS Sdn Bhd under PLUS Malaysia. The first development at Seremban RSA Southbound is expected to be completed by 2027, pioneering what is said to be as the first-of-its-kind EV retail charging hub along the NSE.
PLUS will lead the development and operations of the retail and F&B areas to enhance the rest-stop experience, while Yinson GreenTech will install, operate, and manage the EV charging systems at these locations.
More than just EV charging: A complete stopover experience

Unlike standard charging stops, these new hubs aim to offer a comprehensive highway break experience by combining high-speed DC chargers with lifestyle amenities. According to both parties, this model not only supports EV adoption but also improves long-distance travel convenience for electric vehicle drivers.
To date, PLUS has already 112 DC fast charging points across its highway network, exceeding its original 2025 target and reflecting its accelerated push in EV infrastructure development.
Driving towards Malaysia’s green mobility goals

The initiative aligns with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and the Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint 2030 (LCMB), supporting Malaysia’s broader ambition to reach net zero emissions by 2050.
Yinson GreenTech CEO Lim Chern Yuan said, “We are delighted to be collaborating with PLUS to realise our shared goal of making EV chargers more easily accessible. The Hubs that we are developing aim to resolve the current challenges faced by EV drivers. With high speed and dependable chargers deployed at critical locations nationwide, we are helping alleviate range anxiety and remove the barrier to EV adoption. We are committed to advancing Malaysia’s green mobility ambitions.”
PLUS Managing Director Datuk Nik Airina Nik Jaffar said, “This collaboration marks a strategic milestone in supporting the national Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint 2030 and our aspirations towards a sustainable and smart highway for enhanced travel experience for our highway customers.”
The hubs are also expected to contribute to the national target of 10,000 EV charging stations, as outlined by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).
Future-proofing Malaysia’s EV infrastructure

Back in June 2023, Yinson GreenTech and PLUS had jointly announced plans to deploy a high-powered “Hyperpower” DC charging hub at the same Seremban R&R Southbound location. Hoarding boards have been up at the site for some time, and ChargEV (CPO operated by Yinson GreenTech) had intended to install 8 DC charging bays capable of delivering up to 350kW.
As EV technology and demand continue to evolve, it’s likely the upcoming Integrated EV Hub will scale up both in charging capacity and volume, potentially offering dozens of bays with ultra-rapid DC charging capabilities of up to 1MW. While final specs have yet to be officially confirmed, this would reflect a major leap in addressing future EV charging loads, particularly for commercial EVs and next-gen high-voltage EV platforms which are going beyond 800V.

ChargEV has already demonstrated this direction through three large-scale DC charging hubs in Malaysia, powered by the eLoaded DC Grid System. Unlike traditional EV charging infrastructures, the DC grid architecture is designed to offer scalability with optimised cost efficiency while reduce energy transmission losses.
Here’s a quick look at ChargEV’s largest EV charging deployments so far:
The announcements of large scale charging hubs come at the right time as Malaysia’s EV adoption is expected to grow exponentially when more affordable EVs enter the market. Among the sub-RM100,000 EVs that are expected to launch by end of this year includes the Proton e.MAS 5, Perodua’s upcoming EV and the Wuling Bingo.
