Mention American smartphone makers, and you will think of brands like Apple, Google, or even Motorola. But today, a new brand has emerged, and it’s called Trump Mobile.

Yes, it’s indeed the same “Trump” you’re thinking of. Run by US President Donald Trump’s privately owned company — The Trump Organization — specifically by the man’s sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, the newly set up Trump Mobile has launched a new smartphone called the T1 Phone, along with a telco plan literally named “The 47 Plan”.

Trump Mobile’s T1 Phone is open for pre-order

Available in a gold exterior, the Trump Mobile T1 Phone is priced at USD 499 (~RM2,118). Customers can now drop their pre-orders for the phone with a down payment of USD 100 (~RM424), but at the time of writing, no launch date has been confirmed just yet.

Up front, the T1 Phone is equipped with a 6.78″ AMOLED display, featuring a punch hole. There are no specific details listed for the phone’s display resolution and chipset just yet, but we do know that it comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, along with a microSD slot for storage expansion.

At the back of the T1 Phone is an iPhone-like camera island that houses a 50MP main camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. So no, there’s no ultra-wide or telephoto lens here. But what you do get is a 16MP selfie camera.

Battery-wise, the Trump Mobile T1 Phone features a 5,000mAh battery that supports 20W “fast” charging with its USB 2.0 Type-C port. Additionally, the T1 Phone is also equipped with an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and even comes with what the company calls “AI Face Unlock”. This face unlock feature uses only the front camera, and is not the same as the 3D facial recognition-like Face ID on your iPhone.

Oh, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack here too. The Trump Mobile T1 Phone runs on Google’s latest Android 15. Though the company has not stated how many years of software updates its smartphone will receive.

The 47 Plan comes with unlimited 5G data, calls, text, and international calls to Malaysia

Now, onto the company’s telco plan. Appropriately named The 47 Plan in reference to Donald Trump as the 47th U.S. President, the name is already a cheeky nod — but it doesn’t stop there. The monthly subscription price of USD 47.45 (~RM201.40) cleverly ties in both his position as the 47th President and his earlier tenure as the 45th.

By the way, Trump Mobile says its mobile plan is created to honour the sacrifice of the US military. The company adds that the plan has been made easy and affordable for service members and their loved ones to stay connected, no matter if they’re stationed at home or overseas.

Hence, The 47 Plan comes with unlimited data, calls, and texts across the US. Users even get unlimited calls and texts to Mexico and Canada. All of these are said to be made automatically available with no extra setup or activation needed.

In addition to that, the plan also includes international calls with up to 200 destinations. This includes regions such as North America, Europe, and Malaysia, which come with unlimited minutes of calls. If you have friends or relatives living in the US and you plan to make calls very often, The 47 Plan might be for them, or not.

Trump Mobile also boasts its mobile plan of having the “same coverage as the 3 nationwide phone service carriers” in the US. Well, that’s because it uses AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile’s networks.

Furthermore, The 47 Plan comes with a free SIM kit, shipping included, and doesn’t come with any contract or credit check. The plan is even said to consist of some extras, such as “device protection” and Telehealth services, including virtual medical care, easy ordering and delivery for prescription medications, as well as roadside assistance provided by Drive America.

Last but not least, customers who have any questions regarding Trump Mobile’s T1 Phone, The 47 Plan, or any of its services may contact its customer service call centre that’s based in the US.
