No queue with TNG: Rapid KL My50 unlimited ride Travel Pass can be renewed via TNG eWallet

My50 Travel Pass holders are now offered an easier way to activate and renew their monthly unlimited public transport pass. Prasarana has launched the digitalisation of the My50 Travel Pass, allowing users to renew on their smartphones via Touch ‘n Go eWallet (TNG eWallet) starting 1st July 2025.

With this new option, users won’t need to tap in and tap out using their MyKad (NRIC) and they no longer need queue up at the counter to activate and renew the My50 Travel Pass.

To use the TNG eWallet option for My50 Travel Pass renewal, you’ll need the Enhanced TNG Card with NFC function (buy online), a NFC-enabled smartphone and a verified TNG eWallet account with eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) completed.

How to renew Rapid KL My50 Travel Pass with TNG eWallet

Here’s how to activate or renew your My50 Travel Pass starting 1st July 2025:

  1. Launch the TNG eWallet app (Complete eKYC if you haven’t already)
  2. Launch the “Travel Pass” app (Tap on “More” on home screen, then find Travel Pass)
  3. Tap your preferred TNG Card (for your public transport use) onto your phone
  4. Select Travel Pass My50 and choose the activation date.
  5. Agree to terms and conditions, and complete the Payment
  6. Tap the same TNG card again on your phone to complete activation.

Take note that My50 Travel Pass is offered to Malaysians only. Only one TNG card can be activated for the My50 pass and it can only be activated once your existing My50 Travel Pass has expired (on existing MyKad). Besides the TNG card, you can also use the TNG Charm for your My50 Travel Pass usage.

As usual, a minimum balance of RM5 is still required on the TNG card at all times when using Rapid KL services.

To recap, the My50 Travel Pass at RM50 allows Malaysians to enjoy 30-days of unlimited rides on RapidKL’s LRT, MRT, BRT, Monorail and feeder buses in the Klang Valley.

During the launch, Transport Minister Anthony Loke has praised Prasarana’s digitalisation efforts starting with the My50 Travel Pass. He also shared that the daily MyCity Pass will also be digitalised later this year.

For those who are not ready to make the switch to TNG eWallet for My50 Travel Pass renewal, the Minister said commuters can still continue to renew their Travel passes via MyKad.

According to Prasarana, the new TNG eWallet is expected to provide convenience to nearly 250,000 My50 pass holders and they hope that it will attract more city dwellers to use public transport.
