Huawei Watch Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro: Huawei’s answer to Apple Watch and Apple Watch Ultra

Besides the Huawei Watch 5, Huawei has also unveiled its new Huawei Watch Fit 4 series which are launching in Malaysia next week. Available in two models – the Watch Fit 4 and the Watch Fit 4 Pro, these smartwatches appear to go head on against the Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.

The Watch Fit 4 succeeds last year’s affordable Huawei Watch Fit 3, while the new Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro features premium materials, brighter screen and additional features that support freediving and golf. Both of these new wearable devices are compatible for both Android and iPhone smartphone users.

Huawei Watch Fit 4

The Watch Fit 4 is one of the lightest and slimmest smartwatches from Huawei, at 27g (body only) and it is 9.5mm thick (excluding sensor). Like its predecessor, it has an aluminium alloy body with a 1.82″ AMOLED display that pushes 480×408 pixels resolution. The display on the Watch Fit 4 is now brighter as it boasts up to 2000 nits of brightness (Fit 3: 1500 nits).

Similar to the Apple Watch, it still gets a digital crown as a physical button on the right side.

The Watch Fit 4 supports more than 100 sports modes and it now features a new Barometer that records 5 additional altitude and air pressure data which include altitude, highest altitude, total elevation gain, total descend and air pressure. The new watch also supports offline full-colour maps and it also supports what Huawei claims to be the first-ever water sport route tracking as it provides real-time workout data including route, speed and distance.

Similar to the latest wearables from Huawei, the Watch Fit 4 also provides sleep tracking, stress monitoring and it also keeps an eye out for your emotional wellbeing.

In terms of connectivity, it has dual-frequency GPS (L1+L5) powered by Huawei Sunflower Positioning system, Bluetooth and it also supports NFC (Grey version only). It has 5 ATM-rated water resistance, which means that it can withstand up to 50-metres of static water pressure for 10 minutes.

On a full charge, the Huawei Watch Fit 4 boasts up to 10 days of battery life or up to 7 days with typical usage use. With the latest 2nd-gen Huawei Watch Wireless Supercharger, you can top up a full day of usage with just 10 minutes of charging. A full charge of the watch takes 75 minutes.

Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro

If you’re looking for something more premium and more capable, there’s the range-topping Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro. This is Huawei’s thinnest smartwatch body yet at just 9.3mm and it weighs 30.4g (without the strap). The Watch Fit 4 Pro gets sapphire glass and titanium alloy bezel, encased in an aluminium alloy body.

Similar to the Huawei Watch 5, the Watch Fit 4 Pro’s display has a peak brightness of 3000 nits which is Huawei’s brightest watch display ever for improved outdoor visibility.

Besides having more than 100 sports modes, the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro supports additional professional outdoor sports including golf. It is able to display maps from 15,000 global courses, smart distance measurements with green contour data and a real-time digital scorecard. The Watch Fit 4 Pro also has freediving mode and the new depth sensor provides real-time diving data recording, and it has limit alerts for diving and hovering.
