MacBook Air 13 and 15 2024: Now available in Malaysia, from RM216.63/month

The latest Macbook Air 13 and 15 powered by the newer M3 chip are now available in Malaysia. Apple’s online store is already accepting orders and for the first time, Apple is offering their new MacBooks on a 24-month instalment plan with eligible credit cards.

M3-powered MacBook Air 13 and 15 Pricing in Malaysia

To recap, here’s the official pricing for the M3-powered MacBook Air with a 13.6″ Liquid Retina display in Malaysia:

Here’s the pricing for the larger MacBook Air 15 powered by the new M3 chip:

Whichever model you order, you will need to wait until after the Raya holidays to receive your new MacBook Air. At the moment, the online store lists 17th April 2024 as its tentative delivery date for orders in the Klang Valley.

Customise your MacBook Air with up to 24GB of unified memory and 2TB of storage

When you order directly from Apple’s online store, you can also customise your MacBook Air 13 and 15 with more RAM and storage configurations. To upgrade from 16GB to 24GB of memory costs RM800 and you can jump from 512GB to 1TB SSD for an extra RM800 or up to 2TB for an extra RM2,400.

A fully spec-ed up MacBook Air 13 costs RM9,999 while the MacBook Air 15 with all the highest RAM and storage costs RM10,999. With the customised configurations, deliveries take slightly longer with estimated shipping between 22 to 24th April 2024.

Instalment plans and trade-ins are now offered by Apple Malaysia

If you don’t want to pay the full amount upfront, you can order the MacBook Air 13 and 15 through a monthly instalment programme. You can choose between 6 to 24-month instalment options and enjoy 0% interest with eligible credit cards. At the moment, Apple’s online store accepts Maybank, CIMB, HongLeong Bank, RHB, Ambank, Affin Bank and OCBC Bank credit cards for instalments with a minimum order of RM2,000.

As revealed last week, Apple Malaysia has started accepting trade-ins for older devices where you can get credit for the purchase of new devices. According to their website, a MacBook Pro can be worth up to RM3,900 while a MacBook Air is worth up to RM1,750. Interestingly, an iPad Pro can be worth up to RM4,200 while the Apple Watch Ultra trade-in value is worth up to RM1,950.

The actual trade-in value is subject to the device’s condition and the entire process could take about 2 to 3 weeks. Users can choose to reject the trade-in if they are not satisfied with the evaluated trade-in amount.

What’s new with the M3-powered MacBook Air 13 and 15?

The new MacBook Air 13 and 15 are essentially a performance upgrade over the previous M2-powered versions. It also gets added support for up to two external displays but this only works with the lid closed. In addition, the WiFi capabilities have been upgraded to support WiFi 6E which offers 2x faster speeds than WiFi 6. You can learn more about the new M3-powered MacBook Air in our announcement post.
